Strelitzia Reginae:
- Origin: Originally from South Africa, now widespread in tropical and sub-tropical areas
- Family: Belongs to the banana family, evident in the similar leaf shape
- Pollination: Flowers are pollinated by sunbirds such as colibri or hummingbirds
- Flower Description: Three brilliant orange sepals and three purplish-blue petals, with two blue petals forming an arrow-like nectary
- Included: 10 seeds, oval zinc tub, soil and cocopress tablet
Cultivation:
- Seed Preparation: Remove the orange tuft of hair (Aril) from seeds
- Soaking: Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours, starting with hot water that cools slowly

Planting:
- Place small pebbles or coarse gravel in the zinc tray for drainage
- Fill with soil mixture
- Spread seeds over the soil surface and push them in to a depth of 0.5 cm
- Spray soil with water and cover tray with cling film to retain moisture
- Place in a well-lit, warm position (at least 25°C)
- Check periodically to ensure soil remains moist
- Germination: Can take 3-5 months; patience and care are essential

Transplanting: Once tiny leaves appear, transplant into flowerpots (10-12 cm diameter)
- When plants are larger, move to a bigger pot or decorative container

Watering and Care:
- Provide plenty of water and a well-lit position
- Add liquid fertilizer to water weekly from spring to early autumn
- Ensure good drainage; the plant does not like 'wet feet'
- During summer, place outside on a terrace or veranda
- During colder periods, bring indoors
- During hibernation, reduce watering; browning of leaf ends is normal
- Flowering: Begins in the fourth year
